Brand: Le Tigre Overview

Le Tigre is an American clothing brand created to compete with Lacoste in terms of style. Their polos were introduced in 1977 and featured a leaping tiger instead of Lacoste's signature crocodile or Retro Fox's leaping fox. After being out of production since the 1990s, the brand made a comeback in 2003. With bold and vibrant color waves applied to classic designs, the brand aimed to disrupt Classic Casual American style. Le TIGRE rose to prominence as the leader in "Preppy Style with a Twist." During the late 1980s, celebrities such as Wilt Chamberlain, LL Cool J, and even Ronald Reagan were seen wearing the tiger. Since 2007, the company has been a subsidiary of Kenneth Cole Productions in New York City, and in November 2015, Infinity Lifestyle Brands and Hilco Brands purchased Le Tigre.
