Smilin' Bob'S Overview

In 2008, Bob and Tom combined their resources and founded Key West Smoked Fish Company. They started preparing small batches of smoked fish dip for local restaurants in a small space next to a law company and behind a bakery. After ten years, the business has outgrown the small space and has taken over the law firm and bakery and purchased the site next door. It has survived the Deep Water Horizon oil spill as well as Hurricane Irma's direct hit. Smilin Bob's now has two custom smokers, a forklift, extra refrigeration, and storage. The packaging procedure has been automated thanks to a custom-built cupping machine. Their dedicated employees smoke the fish, slice and dice it, prepare the dip, and pack and ship it. Their products are available for purchase in retail stores such as Instacart, BJ's Wholesale Club Holdings, Inc., and many others—both locally and online.
